NAVI Wine & Tasting Room is hiring for our main street tasting room in Columbus, GA! Our Tasting Room will feature our award-winning wines paired with carefully crafted cheese, charcuterie, barrel-aged cocktails wines from around the world.
We are looking to add an outgoing Tasting Room Manager to our team who will show exceptional skill to manage the daily operation of the Tasting Room and budget for long-term success!
The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for promoting and marketing the NAVI Wine brand and Tasting Room to the public, overseeing the daily operations of the Tasting Room, and training Associates to provide an exceptional customer experience to each guest. The Tasting Room Manager will also manage and promote Wine Club recruitment and coordinate Wine Club shipments. This person also assists in setting up, taking down, and hosting special events held both onsite and offsite. The regular schedule is expected to be Wednesday – Saturday.
A successful candidate will have initiative, vision, excellent communication skills, and cohesive working relationships with management, customers, and staff.
Essential Functions:
- Train associates on all information pertaining to wines and visitor experience including techniques to increase wine sales.
- Maintain an inviting and clean environment (indoor and outdoor areas).
- Oversee scheduling for all staff, manage inventory of wines and other supplies, and plan successful tasting room events.
- Monitor and provide sales analytics from the POS system to the executive team.
- Work with and report directly to the General Manager to present new marketing initiatives.
- Manage website event calendars, social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.), print, radio and any other form of advertising.
- Maintain wine & spirits inventory and process new orders with vendors
- Process phone orders and wine shipping orders.
- Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Follow all appropriate policies and safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Success Factors:
A successful candidate is a “people person” who is genuinely interested in others, is an excellent listener, and enjoys interacting with others even when they are complete strangers. Candidates must possess effective time management (i.e. planning, prioritizing, delegating, etc.), and communication both verbal and written with customers, management, and outside vendors.
Qualifications:
- 5 years in hospitality or sales with good knowledge of wine.
- Knowledge of wine production and/or experience in tasting room or Restaurant sales is a plus.
- Previous managerial experience in hiring, training, supervising, and scheduling employees is also a plus.
- Read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must possess or be able to obtain Food Handler’s Card and ABC alcohol servers permit.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
